about me

I am Raquel Serrano, industrial engineer, mother and sustainability consultant for small and medium companies that want to make their business more responsible.

As a child I was fascinated by taking my toys apart and discovering how their mechanisms worked. That is why I decided to study industrial engineering. As an engineer, I have worked for more than ten years for major brands in the automotive industry, mainly in Germany.

A trip to Indonesia triggered a life change, both personally and professionally.

Seeing the environmental impact of tourism, traffic, poverty or the deforestation of the Borneo rainforest, made sitting in my office every day developing cars an immense mental burden. So, I decided to train in resource management, environment and sustainability and quit my job to focus on my true passion.

During this time, I have also become a mother, and this has only reaffirmed my desire to dedicate myself to improving the use of resources, to working in a more efficient and respectful manner, and to putting ethics and life at the center.

I have a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Zaragoza.

I have a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the Open University (UK).

I have worked as a Project Manager and I am a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner, SCRUM Master and SCRUM Product Owner.

I have a background in Sustainability Management, Climate Protection and Energy Management.

I am familiar with ISO 14001, EMAS, GHG Protocol and Sustainability Reporting using the GRI Standard.

I work in Spanish, English and German.

Today I know what my values are and how I want them to be part of my personal and professional life.

I am convinced that any change, no matter how small, has a lot of power if done consciously. That’s why with my current project I help small and medium-sized companies like yours to continuously improve and become more socially and environmentally responsible with their production processes while remaining economically profitable.
